Here you will find a curated selection of Ethical Clothing Australia businesses ranging from underwear, social enterprise, custom made tee shirts, fabric, yours truly and more.

I have been reading Peppermint magazine for years and have found some great businesses within the pages. It is filled with inspiring and educational articles, promoting and talking to artist and makers and businesses who are working towards a better world. It feels like the perfect fit to be part of this gorgeous publication. If you haven’t read Peppermint Magazine before, perhaps now is the time to start and if you already do, look out for us in the Market Place spread!

If you aren’t familiar with Ethical Clothing Australia, please head over to their website and find out more about what they do, and look out for the list of their accredited businesses. There is a common misconception that Australian made clothing must have been made ethically. Surely we wouldn’t treat our workers badly!?

Sadly, even in Australia, most garment workers are women, many of whom have come from overseas and don’t always have a good grasp of the English language, or knowledge of their rights in this country. There is abuse and unfair treatment present everywhere, and Australia is not immune to this. Being accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia is something I have wanted for a long time. I hope that it can empower me to share with you how important your choices are when it comes to your clothing purchases. by Audrey & Grace is here to give you an ethical option when buying clothes.

The cover of this Issue of Peppermint mag features beautiful hand embroidery by textile artist Fleur Woods and has a printed sewing pattern tucked inside for those looking for a creative challenge. Maybe you would like to embark on a #memademay project before the month is out.
